Access

Lack of self-guided access to the community leads to isolation and dependence.  We believe giving a person the opportunity to access their environment utilizing interdependent resources will grant opportunities for improved self-sufficiency.

Minds in Motion Initiative (MIMI) has developed a community access program for people with brain injuries and differences.  This program will break down barriers to accessing community services/supports.  Additionally, MIMI will provide specific training in how to utilize technology, resources, and public and private transportation in order to move about the community, secure vocation and participate in social activities.

Services include:

  • Teaching self-sufficient, community transportation

  • Partnering with agencies to facilitate access 7 days per week to the community for those who cannot drive.

  • Strengthening technological skills

  • Enhancing social communication skills
